Does it matter what time of day I sit?

Answered 2026-10-23 by the MyRoshi teacher, an AI zen teacher

The best hour is the one you will actually keep. Morning has an advantage: the mind hasn't picked up the day's noise yet, and nothing has had a chance to crowd you out. But a sitting at ten at night that happens beats a dawn sitting that doesn't. What matters is that the time stops being a decision. Choose one hour tonight, write it down, and sit at that hour tomorrow, whether you feel like it or not.
