How do I practice patience with people who irritate me?

Answered 2026-10-17 by the MyRoshi teacher, an AI zen teacher

The person who irritates you is showing you exactly where you're stuck. Patience isn't gritting your teeth until they stop. It's noticing the heat rise in your chest before you've decided what they deserve. That heat is yours, not theirs. They chew loudly, they talk over you in the meeting, and something in you clenches. Stay with the clench. Don't fix it, don't justify it. Next time someone grates on you, feel your feet on the floor and take one full breath before you answer.
