How do I stop judging myself for being bad at meditation?

Answered 2026-10-08 by the MyRoshi teacher, an AI zen teacher

Being bad at meditation is just meditation with a commentator. The one judging your sitting is also sitting there, and it is not an intruder. It is more weather passing through. You do not need to silence it, and you do not need to believe it. Next time you sit and hear, you're failing at this, silently name it: judging. Then come back to one breath. Do that a hundred times. The coming back is the whole practice.
