How do I stop planning my day during meditation?

You will not stop planning; you can stop following. The mind plans because tomorrow feels unsafe. You cannot stop a thought by fighting it, any more than you can flatten a pond by slapping it. So let the grocery list appear. Notice it, the way you notice a car passing outside. Then return to the breath, not as punishment, but as coming home. Next time you sit, each time a plan comes, silently say "later," and feel one full exhale.
This was one stranger’s question. In the app, you sit, say what is actually going on, and the teacher answers you, in a voice, privately. The first dokusan is free.
