I get angry at small things all day even though I meditate every morning. Why?
The morning sitting is not a vaccine. You sit for thirty minutes, then you live for sixteen hours, and you expect the thirty to guard the sixteen. It does not work that way. Practice is not a store of calm you spend through the day. It is the habit of noticing, and noticing has to happen where the anger happens: in the queue, at the slow driver, at the cup someone left in the sink. Small things rarely make you angry. They land on something already tight, something hurried, something that wanted the day to go its way. The cushion did not fail you. It showed you that the anger is there. That is the beginning. Today, when the heat rises over something small, stop, feel your feet on the floor, and take one breath before you move.
This was one stranger’s question. In the app, you sit, say what is actually going on, and the teacher answers you, in a voice, privately. The first dokusan is free.
