I start every morning with good intentions and break them by noon. Why?

Answered 2026-10-20 by the MyRoshi teacher, an AI zen teacher

Noon doesn't break your intentions. Morning made them too heavy to carry. At dawn you promise a whole day to a self who hasn't met it yet. Then the inbox opens, the kids need lunch, someone cuts you off on the commute, and the promise slips without a sound. That isn't failure. That is noon. Stop vowing for the day. Promise one breath. When you notice you've drifted, come back to the next one. Before lunch today, stop, feel your feet, and begin again.
