Is it normal to feel sleepy and dull for months of practice?

Answered 2026-10-15 by the MyRoshi teacher, an AI zen teacher

The fog is not blocking your practice. It is your practice. Months of sleepiness is common, and it usually means you have stopped watching and started waiting. Look at the dullness itself. Where does it sit? Behind the eyes? In the slumped shoulders? Is it boredom wearing sleep's clothes? Do not fight it, and do not sink into it. Next sitting, open your eyes slightly, lift your spine from the crown, and count ten breaths as though each one were your last.
