Is it selfish to want peace for myself?

Wanting peace is not selfish. Hoarding it would be. Think about who meets you at the end of a bad work week: your kids, your coworkers, the cashier. They get whatever you are carrying. A frantic mind spills onto everyone in the room. A settled one does too. So sit for yourself, without apology. Just notice that nothing you find stays yours for long. Tonight, after sitting, go do the dishes slowly, for whoever eats next.
This was one stranger’s question. In the app, you sit, say what is actually going on, and the teacher answers you, in a voice, privately. The first dokusan is free.
