My body starts swaying when I sit. Is that normal?

Answered 2026-11-08 by the MyRoshi teacher, an AI zen teacher

Your body is looking for center. Let it look. Swaying is common, and it means nothing special. A tall thing balancing on a small base always moves a little. The trouble begins when you chase it, enjoying it, or fight it, bracing against it. Both are the mind grabbing. Just notice it, the way you notice traffic hum outside. Next sitting, when the sway starts, feel your sitting bones press down and let each swing grow smaller by itself.
