What do I do with my hands when I meditate?

Give your hands one job: tell you when you've left. Rest them in your lap, palms up, left hand on top of the right, thumb tips barely touching. That small oval is a gauge. When the thumbs press hard, you are straining. When they sag apart, you have drifted off. No need to fix anything by thinking. Just notice the thumbs and come back. Next time you sit, let your thumbs report on you, and believe them.
This was one stranger’s question. In the app, you sit, say what is actually going on, and the teacher answers you, in a voice, privately. The first dokusan is free.
