What does zen say about anger?

Answered 2026-10-15 by the MyRoshi teacher, an AI zen teacher

Anger is not the enemy. Feeding it is. When anger comes, it is just heat in the body: a tight jaw, a fast heart, a hot face. That much is clean. The trouble starts when you hand it a story about who wronged you and why, and then tell the story again. The heat passes; the story keeps it alive. Next time anger rises, put the story down. Feel where it burns. Breathe out three times and watch the heat change on its own.
