Why do I feel tired after meditating?
Answered 2026-10-31 by the MyRoshi teacher, an AI zen teacher
Meditation doesn't make you tired. It just stops hiding how tired you already were. All week you run on caffeine, deadlines and the commute, and your body keeps quiet until you sit still. Then the tiredness shows up. That isn't failure, it's honesty. Sometimes it's also plain sleepiness, and you can meet that too: sit upright, keep your eyes half open, and leave a little light in the room. Next time, before you begin, notice how tired you already are.
This was one stranger’s question. In the app, you sit, say what is actually going on, and the teacher answers you, in a voice, privately. The first dokusan is free.
