Delete Your Data

Last updated: 22 August 2026

MyRoshi is operated by Saravanakumar D, an individual sole proprietor, based in India. Contact: admin@myroshi.com.

You can erase your practice data without closing your account. There are three ways, from the smallest to the largest. All of them are immediate and none can be undone.

One talk

Open any past dokusan or teisho, tap the actions on it and choose delete. That talk — its audio, its text, its subtitle cues — is erased from our servers straight away.

One uploaded note or book

Menu → Notes & books, then remove on the item. The upload and everything derived from it go with it.

Everything, keeping your account

Menu → Encryption key → start fresh with a new key. You will be asked to type a confirmation phrase, because this one is not recoverable.

It erases your entire encrypted store on our servers:

  • every dokusan and teisho, with their texts, subtitle cues and audio
  • your quizzes and study progress, and your position in the curriculum
  • your journal and notebook
  • your uploaded notes and books
  • your sitting settings and voice choices

Your device then mints a brand-new encryption key and your practice begins on empty ground. Your account, email and subscription are untouched, and your usage allowance resets.

What survives starting fresh

  • Your account — email, sign-in, subscription and allowance. That is the point of this route. To remove those as well, see Delete your account.
  • Your teacher, school and lineage names, if you entered them. They live with your account rather than inside the encrypted store, so a fresh key does not clear them — but they have a door of their own, below.
  • Anonymous engine timings — how long a step of the audio pipeline took. These carry no identifier and cannot be connected to you or to anything you said.
  • Feedback you sent the developer, kept with the address you sent it from so a reported bug does not vanish mid-investigation. Starting fresh does not touch it — it is not part of your encrypted store. Deleting your account erases it automatically, and you can ask us to remove it at any time without closing your account.

Your teacher, school and lineage

If you told the app that you practise with a living teacher, those three names sit with your account rather than inside the encrypted store, so that the master can defer to them while composing. Menu → Your teacher to change any of them, or remove these names to erase all three at once.

There is no waiting period on either. These are usually somebody else’s name — a teacher who never signed up for anything — so correcting or removing them is available the moment you want it. Clearing all three removes the declaration entirely, and the talks go back to speaking as themselves.

If you cannot sign in

Email admin@myroshi.com from the address you signed up with, saying what you want erased. We will act within 30 days, and in practice within a few working days. We may ask you to confirm from the same address first, since the erasure is irreversible.

A note on how this is stored

Your practice is sealed under a key we never store, so the material described above is removed without our ever having been able to read it. The Privacy Policy sets out what is held, for how long, and on what legal basis.
