MyRoshi

Support

Last updated: 16 August 2026

MyRoshi is made by one person. Write to admin@myroshi.com and you will reach him directly — usually within a day or two. Tell us the email address on your account and, if something went wrong, roughly when.

You can also write from inside the app: Settings → Send feedback.

Cancelling your subscription

Subscriptions are billed by the App Store or Google Play, so they are cancelled there rather than by us.

  • iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → MyRoshi → Cancel Subscription.
  • Android:Google Play → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → MyRoshi → Cancel.

Cancel during the 7-day free trial and you are never charged. Cancel afterwards and the subscription stops renewing; you keep everything until the end of the period you have already paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Refunds

Because the stores take the payment, they also handle refunds — we cannot issue one ourselves. Request an App Store refund at reportaproblem.apple.com, or a Google Play refund from Google Play. Our Refund & Cancellation Policy has the detail. If something is broken rather than unwanted, write to us first — we would rather fix it.

Restoring a purchase on a new phone

Sign in with the same account, open Settings → Subscription and tap restore purchases. Your subscription follows your App Store or Google Play account, so it must be the same store account that bought it.

Your encryption key — the important one

Everything you write and every talk you receive is stored encrypted under a key we never keep. We cannot read your stored practice, and we cannot recover it. That is the point, and it has one consequence worth understanding before you need to.

  • Back the key up now: Settings → Encryption key. You can copy the hex, write down the words, or show a QR code to another device.
  • Moving to a new phone: same screen — paste the key, type the words, or scan the QR from your old device.
  • If the key is lost: your previous talks and notes cannot be opened by anyone, including us. The app can erase them and start fresh with a new key; your account and subscription are unaffected.

Closing your account

To erase your practice but keep your account, use Settings → Encryption key → erase & start fresh.

To close the account itself, open Settings → your email address → Delete this account in the app and type DELETE to confirm. The account, every talk, your notes, your journal and your study progress are erased from our servers, and any Sign in with Apple grant is revoked. Nothing can be recovered afterwards — we cannot read your practice before deleting it, so there is no copy to restore.

Cancel your subscription first. Subscriptions belong to your App Store or Google Play account and we cannot cancel one for you — deleting the account does not stop the billing. Use the steps above, then delete.

If you cannot reach the app for any reason, email admin@myroshi.com from the address on the account and we will do it for you.

Common questions

The talk is taking a long time. A dokusan is written and then spoken aloud, which takes a few minutes. You can leave the app; you will be told when it is ready if you have allowed notifications.

Is the teacher a real person? No. Every talk is written fresh by an AI and spoken in a synthesised voice. It is a companion to practice, not a replacement for a living teacher — see why MyRoshi is for adults.

Something is wrong with a talk. Send it to us with Settings → Send feedback. We only receive what you choose to write there — never the talk itself, which we cannot read.
